A Port Elizabeth man who was on the run from the police has been arrested in Cradock.
Police spokesperson, Colonel Priscilla Naidu, said that the 22-year-old man, Azaar Claasen, was wanted on charges of murder and attempted murder following a shooting in Gelvandale on 9 January.
She said his two alleged accomplices are already in custody in connection with the murder of 25-year-old Renique Witbooi and the attempted murder of a 47-year-old man in a house in Martin Street.
Naidu said a Cradock policeman saw the report of the wanted suspect in the media and assembled a team that arrested Claasen in Michausdal.
He is expected to appear in the Port Elizabeth Magistrates’ court soon.
