A 34-year old taxi driver was sentenced in the Port Elizabeth Regional Court on Friday to life imprisonment for raping a 14-year-old passenger.
NPA spokesperson, Anelisa Ngcakani says Mongameli Jojo was convicted of rape, kidnapping and robbery with aggravating circumstances in October this year.
She says the incident happened in March 2016, when the victim and her siblings, who were three and four-years-old at the time, took a taxi from their mother's house to their grandmother's in Port Elizabeth.
Jojo took them to a cemetery where he raped the young girl in the vehicle in front of her two young siblings.
He was sentenced to a further 15 years for robbery with aggravating circumstances and three years for kidnapping.
