Port Elizabeth adventure ultra distance swimmer, Kyle Main, has a date with destiny next month, when he tackles the Strait of Gibraltar.
He flies out next week and says he'll have a six to eight day window in which to complete the 25 km swim.
Main says fewer than 500 people have completed the crossing from Spain to Morocco.
"Your average swim is between six or seven hours. Obviously I'm trying to go for a time, I'm trying to go three hours, not playing games or wasting any time," he said.
