A Port Elizabeth man who allegedly shot his five year old son in Kwazakhele, is still on the run nearly 24 hours after the incident.
Police spokesperson, warrant officer Thembi Gwe says the man and his wife were allegedly arguing on Thursday night when he threatened to shoot her.
She says the soldier, who is a member of the SA National defence force, drew his fire-arm and a shot went off, wounding the child in the foot.
Gwe says the mother fled to the neighbours who alerted the police.
The child is being treated in hospital.
Police are investigating a case of attempted murder.
