The gates of the Astra Primary School in Bethelsdorp, Port Elizabeth, will be closed from Thursday.
This week, parents decided that the school would close until all vacant teaching posts were filled.
On Wednesday, parents picketed outside the school to voice their anger over the situation.
Ten teachers, who were paid by the school governing body, will remain home from today because the school does not have the money to pay them.
School Principal, Desmond Lewis, said on top of the ten governing body posts, there were also several long-standing vacancies that needed be filled.
Lewis says the problem of vacant posts not being filled has been going on for years.
