A soldier from the SA National defence force in Port Elizabeth has appeared in the New Brighton magistrates court on a charge of attempted murder.
Police spokesperson, warrant officer Thembi Gwe says the man was arrested late yesterday afternoon after he handed himself over to Kwazakhele SAPS.
He is alleged to have shot his 5 year-old daughter in the foot after drawing his firearm during an argument with his wife last week.
The case has been postponed to the 7th of July for a formal bail application.
