The Newton Park Indoor swimming pool in Port Elizabeth re-opens for business this weekend after being out of commission for more than a year.
The re-tiling of the pool was completed earlier this month and now that the water has settled, it has been deemed ready to host competition again.
The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality says the pool will be officially re-opened at 11 o'clock on Friday in conjunction with the Learn to Swim Programme that the Municipality is currently running through the Sport and Recreation Sub-directorate.
Eastern Province Biathlon is hosting its Inter-provincial this weekend, and 260 athletes from EP, SWD, Border and Southern Free State will be in action in the Newton Park Indoor swimming Pool on Saturday morning.
Nelson Mandela Bay Acquatics also has events scheduled for Saturday evening and Sunday for its 3rd A-league gala of the season.
