PE radio station in full support of presenter following assault

A Christian Radio station in Port Elizabeth, PE FM, has come out in support of their drive-time presenter Josca Human who was assaulted over the weekend, allegedly by her now ex-boyfriend.

PE FM 87.6 said in a brief statement that Human, who presents the "Destiny Drive" on weekdays between 3-6 pm will continue doing her show during this difficult time.

The station commended her bravery, faith and strength during this difficult time.

PE FM said Miss Human has their full support and that the station agreed with a recent statement from President Cyril Ramaphosa that violence against women and children is a national crisis and needs to stop.

On Friday evening Human was assaulted and the following day photographs of her bruised face went viral on social media.

The suspect was arrested and charged on Tuesday and released on bail of R500.

The well-known businessman, whose identity is known to Algoa FM News, will appear in court on Tuesday where he will be charged with assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and malicious damage to property.

Court records have shown that the suspect was arrested and faced similar charges in 2017.
