PE policeman assaulted on his way to work

 Port Elizabeth police are searching for 5 men who allegedly assaulted a policeman in Kwamagxaki.

Spokesperson, Constable Mncedi Mbombo, says the victim was waiting for a taxi outside his house, when the assailants arrived in a blue Nissan Sentra.

They assaulted and kicked him, demanding his service pistol.

The policeman was however, not in possession of the firearm at the time.

He sustained serious facial injuries.
