Detectives from Mount Road in Port Elizabeth are urgently seeking the community’s assistance in identifying a man captured on CCTV at a recent crime scene.
Police spokesperson, Captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg, said that this relates to the murder of 44-year-old foreign national Smith Sunday on 12 March.
He was gunned down while standing outside his building on the corners of Elizabeth Street and Govan Mbeki Avenue in North End.
“Mr. Smith Sunday was engaged in a conversation with another person when an unknown male approached him and fired several shots at him,” said Janse Van Rensburg.
The gunman then fled in a Nissan bakkie.
She said Sunday was rushed to hospital in a private car but succumbed to his injuries while in hospital.
