The police's Family Violence,Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit in Motherwell, Port Elizabeth is investigating a case of child abandonment, after a baby was found at the Powerline informal settlement.
The baby girl believed, to be two or three days old, was found by Police after a resident reported that the child had been crying during Wednesday night.
The child was found at the back of a police station.
She was taken to Dora Nginza Hospital for medical check-ups.
