Port Elizabeth police are searching for five gunmen who hijacked a truck and stole computer and other electronic goods worth around half a million rand.
Police spokesperson, captain Stanley Jarvis, says two men from a transport company were about to deliver the electronic goods to a business in Newton Park when they were accosted by the gunmen.
He says they forced the men back into the truck which was driven to Schaurderville where the gang was joined by men in two bakkies who then off-loaded the stolen goods.
"A vast amount of electronic equipment including flat screen TV's, computers, laptops and other electronic goods were taken and loaded onto the bakkie's. They then disappeared and the two individuals taken with to Schauderville that were in the truck, phoned the police...
Jarvis says six people from the surrounding community were arrested for allegedly trying to help themselves to the stolen goods left on the truck.
