Port Elizabeth police are on the hunt for a 34-year old suspect following a house robbery in Marine Row in Swartkops.
Police spokesperson, Constable Mncedi Mbombo, says a man allegedly entered the house on Wednesday with an axe in his hand and demanded money and electronic goods from the 44-year old female home owner.
He says the woman managed to escape and the suspect took an undisclosed amount of money and a cell phone.
According to the home owner, the suspect came to her house last month seeking shelter and she then offered her garage to him.
