Port Elizabeth police have arrested a 38-year-old suspect for the illegal possession of a firearm.
Spokesperson, Colonel Pricilla Naidu says members of the K9-unit received information about four suspicious men walking in Stanford Road with firearms in the early hours of Saturday morning.
She says they were spotted near a garage and after searching them, one man was found in possession of a 9mm pistol, a magazine and nine rounds of ammunition.
He was arrested at the scene and will appear in the Gelvandale Magistrate's Court on Monday.
