Police in Port Elizabeth have opened up an inquest docket after the body of a man was found in Milner Street in Sydenham.
Spokesperson Captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg says it is alleged that a family member found the deceased hanging from a tree at the North End lake on Thursday at 12.45 pm.
She says the deceased was identified as the 33-year-old Francois Koen who resides in Smart Street, Sydenham.
Janse van Rensburg says no suicide note was found but no foul play is suspected.
