Port Elizabeth police are searching for a man who allegedly abducted and raped a 20-year-old woman before allegedly killing a 51-year-old man several hours later.
Police spokesperson, Captain Andre’ Beetge, said police are searching for 28-year-old Yanga Ntsiko, following Saturday night’s abduction, rape and assault of a 20-year-old woman in Ngwevana Street, in Unit 9, Motherwell.
He said it is alleged that the suspect, driving a silver VW Polo, took the 20-year-old woman to his home in Ncuncu Street, “where she was locked up against her will, assaulted and raped, before being let go again by the suspect”.
“The suspect is also believed to be on the run from police after a murder and attempted murder that took place the next morning, 26 November, at 05:00 in Ngwevana Street, Unit 9,” Beetge said.
He said two suspects knocked at the door of the home of 51-year-old Luyanda Mncayise.
“When he opened the door the armed suspects said they were looking for his son. When he told them he was not home and turned to close the door, he was shot and killed in cold blood,” Beetge said.
A neighbour, 66-year-old Nosinda Suthu, who came out to see what was happening, was shot in the stomach before the suspects fled in their VW Polo.
Beetge said police are appealing to anybody with information that could lead to the arrest of the suspect/s should contact the investigating officer, Detective Warrant Officer Leslie Kilian at Motherwell police or Crime Stop 08600 10111.
Motherwell Station Commander, Brigadier Ernie Neveling added; "We are appealing to our communities for their assistance and information in finding this dangerous suspect."
