A Port Elizabeth man made a brief court appearance in connection with a hit-and-run accident in which two teenage schoolgirls were seriously injured on Friday night.
The case against 27-year-old SAB employee, William Taute, was postponed to Tuesdaytomorrow.
Taute was arrested on Friday night some distance from the scene where he allgedly hit the girls as they were crossing a traffic intersection in Humewood, Port Elizabeth.
Among the charges he faces are reckless and negligent driving, fleeing the scene of an accident and possible drunken driving.
One of the young girls, Jaydene Lucas, is said to be on life support following the horrific accident while the other teenager, Lorren Abrahams, also remains in critical condition in hospital.
