PE man in court following attempted knife attack

A man appeared in the PE Magistrate's court on Monday in connection with an attempted knife attack in the court on Friday. 

The 19-year-old Melvin Stuurman was charged for attempted murder and possession of a dangerous weapon. 

Drama unfolded at the court on Friday morning, when Stuurman reportedly attempted to stab a witness.

A source who was at the scene told the African News Agency that he had a knife in court.

Stuurman remains in police custody until his next court appearance on Thursday.
