Port Elizabeth police are investigating separate cases of murder and attempted murder following incidents on Wednesday night.
Police spokesperson, Warrant Officer Alwin Labans, says a passerby found the body of a man in Stemela Street in Korsten. He said the 51-year-old man, whose identity is being withheld, had been stabbed several times.
The motive for the murder is not yet known.
Meanwhile, Labans says a case of attempted murder and attempted house robbery is under investigation after a man was shot and wounded in a scuffle with two men who broke into his Havelock Square home.
He says after the shot was fired the intruders fled empty-handed.
No arrests have yet been made.
