A Port Elizabeth man dubbed the "NMU rapist" by local media was convicted on 11 charges against him in the city's High Court on Wednesday.
The court found 29-year-old Kwanele Kilana guilty of raping two Nelson Mandela University students at the Fashion and Textile Computer lab back in October last year.
Kilana raped the two students, stabbed one of them with a pair of scissors then robbed both of them of their cellphones.
He was also found guilty of rape and robbery with aggravating circumstances for another incident which took place near Greenacres Village in July, 2017.
Kilana only pleaded guilty to seven of the 12 charges that were against however High Court Judge Dayalin Chetty only acquitted him on one charge of housebreaking with intent to rob.
Handing down judgment, Chetty said that the CCTV footage, used as evidence during the trial, portrayed the ordeal suffered by the two victims and it corroborated their evidence.
The 29-year-old denied vaginally penetrating the victim, he had stabbed with scissors, but Chetty said the video established the falsity of Kilana's version of events.
He also said that it was apparent from the victim's statement that the rape was indelibly imprinted in her psyche.
Kilana was also found guilty of housebreaking with intent to steal and theft, and two counts of compelled sexual assault for forcing the two students to kiss each other.
He will be sentenced on Thursday.
