PE man dies in freak accident

 A 61 year old man from Charlo, Port Elizabeth, died in a freak accident at his house on Wednesday morning.

Police captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg says it would appear that the man, Leonard van der Schyff, slipped and fell while taking a shower at his home in Berea Street at around 8am.

His wife heard a noise and raised the alarm when she realised what had happened.

Paramedics declared Van der Schyff dead at the scene.

A post mortem will be conducted but it is suspected that he broke his neck in the fall.
