Port Elizabeth police have opened an inquest docket, after a 27-year old man was attacked and killed by two pit bulls in Algoa Park.
Capt. Sandra Janse van Rensburg says another person, who came to the victim's rescue, sustained bite wounds and taken to hospital...
"On Monday evening, the SAPS responded, after receiving a complaint of dogs that were busy attacking a 27-year old man in Magnolia Street, Algoa Park. On arrival at the scene, police found a man that was bitten by two dogs", Janse van Rensburg said.
"Residents in the area came to his assistance and freed him from the dogs, but he passed away on the scene", she said.
Janse van Rensburg says both dogs ran away.
