A Port Elizabeth man has died a gruesome death after being impaled on palisade fencing around a building in Central.
Police spokesperson, warrant officer Alwin Labans, says its alleged that the 29-year-old man had tried to scale the drainpipes on the outside of Castle Court in Castle Hill early on Monday morning.
He says it appears that one of the pipes broke causing the man to fall onto the fence.
Labans says the man did not live in the building but he had relatives living there.
Police are still investigating the reason why he had been trying to scale the building.
Labans says his body was found early in the morning.
