PE man arrested for alleged drunk driving after child is killed on Buffelsfontein Road

Port Elizabeth police are investigating a case of culpable homicide after an eight-year-old boy was hit and killed by a car on Buffelsfontein Road on Sunday.

Spokesperson, Warrant Officer Alwin Labans says the boy was jogging with his elder brother when he was hit by a silver Mitshibushi early in the evening.

He says Mhlilahi Kwezana died at the scene.

Labans says the 50-year-old driver of the vehicle, from Lovemore Heights, was arrested for drunk driving and will appear in court on Monday.
