Police in Swartkops Port Elizabeth have arrested two suspects following an attempted house-breaking in Bluewater Bay.
Police spokesperson, Captain Andre Beetge, says when members arrived at the house in Zephyr Street, one suspect attacked a police member with a knife.
Beetge says the suspect was subsequently shot and wounded and is under police guard in hospital.
He says the other suspect who tried to escape was arrested.
Beetge says both suspects have been wanted by police for other cases.
Police also seized their vehicle which was packed with stolen goods from the house.
