PE gangsters who killed Rasta's get lengthy jail term

Eastern Cape Provincial Police Commissioner Lieutenant-General Liziwe Ntshinga has welcomed the lengthy jail sentences handed down on two Port Elizabeth gang members in the PE Regional Court on Monday.

The 26-year-old Jezwin Peackock and 18-year-old Nealon Redhouse were sentenced for the execution-style murders of two people at a well-known drug post in extension 31, Bethelsdorp in November 2015.

Both men are affiliated to the Spotbouer gang - with Peacock being sentenced to an effective 30 years imprisonment and Redhouse to an effective 18 years behind bars.

The court heard that the two deceased, Gershwin Morris and Bramwell Fortuin were not gang members but lived as Rastas selling dagga from the shack.

The motive for the killing is believed to be drug related as the victims were selling drugs not far from the Spotbouer gang's territory.

Redhouse is currently facing charges relating to two other gang-related murders which he allegedly committed while out on bail in this case.
