Port Elizabeth flying squad members have arrested two alleged murder suspects within an hour of the offence being committed.
Colonel Priscilla Naidu says 30-year-old Gregory Koert was stabbed several times and shot while fleeing from the suspects at around 2.30 pm on Wednesday.
His body was found lying in a yard in Burness Street, Malabar Ext 6 in Port Elizabeth.
According to witnesses, the two suspects were seen jumping into a maroon VW Polo.
Colonel Naidu say a description of the vehicle was immediately circulated via police channels and soon thereafter, the vehicle was spotted in Gelvandale.
PE Flying Squad members stopped the vehicle and two men aged 20 and 32 were arrested.
They are affiliated with the Upstand Dogs gang and have been detained on a charge of murder ahead of a scheduled court appearance in the PE Magistrate's court on Friday.
