Police are investigating a case of culpable homicide after six people died when a car hit a pedestrian on the N-2 freeway and overturned.
Four passengers and the pedestrian died on the scene.
One person who was seriously injured died later in hospital.
The victims in the car were all friends from Arcadia in Port Elizabeth's northern areas.
The pedestrian has not yet been identified.
