A Port Elizabeth man arrested for a hit-and-run accident in which two teenagers were critically injured, now faces a charge of culpable homicide.
This, after one of the girls, 16-year-old Jayden Lucas, died in hospital on Monday.
She was placed on life support following the horrific accident in which her friend, Loren Abrahams, was also seriously injured.
SA Breweries employee, William Taute, made a brief appearance in court yesterday where the matter was postponed to Tuesday.
Taute was arrested some two kilometres from the accident scene in Humewood, Port Elizabeth.
