A 42 year-old domestic worker has been murdered at the home of her employer in Broadwood, Port Elizabeth.
Police spokesperson, captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg, says the woman was killed at around 9 o'clock Tuesday morning and that a man in his 50's was arrested a short while later.
He will appear in court soon on a charge of murder.
Janse van Rensburg says the suspect is believed to have asked a domestic worker at a house in Tobias Street for bread and that she had feared for her safety and locked herself in the house.
She says the man then moved on to the house next door where he asked the domestic for money.
When she refused, the man stabbed her with a sharp object.
The woman, whose name has not yet been released, died on the way to hospital.
