Port Elizabeth police are warning cyclists to be on the lookout for a white VW Polo after a cyclist was robbed just before the intersection of Cows Corner and Kragga Kamma Road on Tuesday morning.
A video of the incident shows the driver of the vehicle reversing into a bushy area off Kragga Kamma Road and an occupant is then seen walking along the road. As the cyclists passes him he turns and chases the unsuspecting rider down, knocking him off his bicycle.
"The suspect grabbed the complainant’s cell phone and ran to the parked vehicle and they drove off in the direction of Seaview," Janse Van Rensburg said.
The 64-year-old victim from Theescombe has laid a charge with the police.
Police said anyone who may spot this vehicle in the vicinity is asked to contact Kabega Park Police.
