A Port Elizabeth couple made a brief court appearance on Monday for the alleged rape of a 14 year old girl who was placed in their foster care.
Police spokesperson, captain Sandra Janse Van Rensburg, says their case was postponed to Wednesday for a possible bail application.
The 38-year-old man and 37-year-old woman from Rowallan Park, were arrested last Thursday following an investigation by the Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit.
Janse Van Rensburg says the unit had been contacted by the girl's school last month out of concern that she was being abused at home.
