Port Elizabeth detectives investigating the 2017 murders of a Summerstrand couple will soon meet Interpol on the progress they've made in executing an international arrest warrant for the Mozambican suspect.
Police say international and domestic arrest warrants have been issued for 26-year-old Ezequiel Carlos Cossa, a former gardener and prime suspect in the brutal murders of 65-year-old Andre' Saaiman and his 69-year-old wife Lydia.
He is believed to have fled to Mozambique after the two were killed in their home in Summerstrand in November 2017.
Port Elizabeth police spokesperson, Colonel Priscilla Naidu, said: "results of forensics evidence collected on the scene suggests the gardener's involvement in the murders."
"The investigating team will be going to Pretoria in the next two weeks to meet with the Interpol liaison regarding the progress on the investigation."
"At this stage, it is thought that he (Cossa) is not in South Africa, however it cannot be ruled out that he perhaps may have come back to the country," she said.
