A Nelson Mandela Bay shop owner is recovering in hospital after being shot during an armed robbery at North End Supermarket.
Police spokesperson, Captain Sandra Janse Van Rensburg, says four suspects were arrested and a firearm and money recovered following Wednesday night's incident.
She says the four entered the business early last night and demanded cash.
Shots were fired and the man was wounded before the gunmen fled.
Janse Van Rensburg said police were on the scene quickly and the suspects arrested in the vicinity.
She's also appealed to businesses to beef up security as the Festive Season approaches.
