PE bus commuters face a hike in fares

Algoa Bus Company has announced an average increase in bus fares of around 5.5 %.

CEO, Sicelo Duze, says the new prices come into effect next Monday.

He says Algoa Bus has not increased its fares since April 2012, absorbing those costs as a kind of plough-back for ongoing support from its commuters.

Duze told Algoa FM News that fares increase is a result of escalating costs of fuel, oils, spares and wages.
