Passport delay could shatter the Brazil dreams of a group of PE teens.

A Port Elizabeth-based Briton who runs a development sports organisation has been waiting 15 weeks for the return of his British passport.

United Through Sport, Director, Nick Mould, says the charity focuses on the development of disadvantaged kids through sport in the townships and PE's Northern areas.

Mould told Algoa FM News the wait for his passport has now become an issue, as he is due to be taking a group of eight kids between the age of 14 and 18 over to Brazil at the end of June to participate in the street football world cup.

Mould says six of the children are in possession of their passports to travel, however they have been waiting for three weeks for the ID's of two other boys who just recently turned 16.

He says he submitted his passport as part of an application for British passports for his own two children, and the process, which usually should take around six weeks is taking much longer and this could potentially shatter the dreams of the boys.

"I am the chaperone for the group, so if I don't get my passport back then the entire group cant go. We are due to be travelling on the 30th of June. We have about 3 weeks until the date of the flight, but obviously we need to know before then to let everyone know" he said
