A man who was out on parole after serving time for murder and robbery, has been arrested in East London following an attack on a woman in Quigney.
Police spokesperson, Mtati Tana, says the 49 year old man was arrested yesterday due to quick action by Constables Mzuli Ncede and Siyabonga Kune-lisi.
He says the suspect stabbed and tried to rob the woman.
Tana says further investigation revealed the suspect had been jailed for life in 1989 but had been released on parole around 2008.
He also failed to report to the Mthatha Central police station on the 9th of January as required.
Tana says he will appear in court soon.
