Panayiotou loses Appeals Court bid

Convicted killer, Christopher Panayiotou, has lost his bid for leave to appeal.

This, after the Supreme Court of Appeal said he would have no reasonable prospects for success.

According to the ruling on 22 August, the Appeals Court further said that there were “no compelling reasons why an appeal should be heard.”

Panayiotou’s application, lodged on 15 June,  was subsequently dismissed.

The Port Elizabeth businessman is serving a life sentence for orchestrating the murder of his school teacher wife Jayde in 2015.
