The SA Police Service-driven Operation Fiela targetted Port Elizabeth's gang-ridden Northern Areas at the weekend resulting in the arrest of nine known gangsters for murder and attempted murder.
Eleven suspects were arrested for possession of and dealing in drugs and dagga and one suspect was arrested for the unlawful possession of a firearm.
Provincial Police spokesperson, Colonel Sibongile Soci said perlemoen valued at 3 million rand was seized at two seperate premises.
Two suspectes were arrested and a firearm was recovered.
Police also confiscated a firearm and 21 rounds of ammunition while seizing drugs worth 3-thousand rand and 24-thousand rand in cash - believed to have been derived from the sale of drugs.
Fourteen shops were visited and 53 cartoons of tobacco were confiscated by Customs.
