Humansdorp police are investigating a case of culpable homicide following a collision between a car and a front-loader on the R-330 between St Francis Bay and Humansdorp on Tuesday morning.
Police spokesperson, Warrant Officer Basil Seekoei, says 38-year-old Ntsikelelo Ndebe died on the scene.
He says another passenger in the car was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
Seekoei says the driver of the car was not injured while the operator of the front-end loader was treated for shock.
He says the accident apparently happened when the car tried to overtake the construction vehicle.
