One killed in head-on collision on N2 near Mthatha

Eastern Cape police are investigating a case of culpable homicide after one person was killed in a head-on collision on the N2 between Mthatha and Qumbu on Sunday morning.

The provincial Transport Department says an Isuzu LDV collided with an oncoming truck.

The male driver of the bakkie, who was alone in the vehicle, was declared dead at the scene.

Two men from the truck escaped unharmed.

The cause of the accident is still unknown.
