One person has died and dozens more were injured in two bus accidents reported in the Eastern Cape this past weekend.
Provincial traffic spokesperson, Charles Bramwell, said that one passenger was fatally injured in a crash between a bus and a car on the N2 between Dutywa and Mthatha.
He said the bus had been carrying school children.
Bramwell said another bus accident was reported just after 4pm on Saturday on the road between Centane and Xholora.
He said the bus driver lost control and the bus went down an embankment and landed on its roof.
Bramwell said that 50 passengers were injured and transported to hospital, one in critical condition.
Investigations are underway into the two crashes.
