Off duty policeman found murdered in Grahamstown


A 32 year old man was arrested earlier on Sunday for allegedly killing an off duty police officer in Grahamstown.

The body of 48-year-old Warrant Officer Alby Julius was found with multiple stab wounds to his upper body.

His body was left in the bushes near the Sun City informal settlement. Police Spokesperson Captain Luvuyo Mjekula says the motive for the murder is not known at this stage.

He expressed his condolences to the officer's bereaved family.

The suspect will make his first appearance on Monday.Provincial police Management praised the Grahamstown detectives, K-9 unit and Visible police members for the swift arrest
