The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality says the water supply system is stable for now but remains critical a week after an electrical outage due to lightning.
It says over the last few days, it produced more than 300 megalitres per day on average to fill the system while meeting the daily demand.
The Metro says this has to drastically reduce in order to preserve the little water that is left.
The KwaNobuhle reservoir's level remains low.
Residents are urged to continue using water sparingly.
