Statement from NMBM regarding load shedding:
The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality began loadshedding on Sunday morning, following a request from Eskom as a result of one of their (Eskom's) feeder stations having lost power.
Proactively, the NMBM had worked out a schedule for loadshedding in the event of such a request having been made from Eskom. We are following this schedule now, which will see each area switched off for 2 hours.
The schedule is available on the website www.nelsonmandelabay.gov.za
On the homepage click on the loadshedding icon, find the Group within which your suburb is, then check the weekly loadshedding schedule. For example, today's schedule follows the week's table that ends on 2 November 2014. Tomorrow's schedule will follow the week's table that starts on 3 November 2014.
As we receive more information from Eskom, we will update the public accordingly.
