Nelson Mandela Bay's main supply dams have slumped to 18.35% of total capacity.
According to the latest figures released by the Nelson Mandela Municipality on Wednesday morning, the Kouga Dam is at a perilous 7% of capacity.
It says the Churchill Dam is at 57.13%, Impofu at 16.89% and the Groendal Dam at 29.36%.
Meanwhile, the Democratic Alliance says that the drastic water cuts on extraction from the Kouga Dam that are expected to come into effect from today could be devastating for Gamtoos Valley farmers.
MPL, Retief Odendaal, says he's reliably learnt that the Department of Water and Sanitation has cut the normal water allocation for agricultural use from the Kouga Dam by 80%.
He says the 20% that is left over, which farmers can still extract, will not be sufficient to keep their orchards alive over the coming months.
