"NMB Coalition government remains intact" - Bobani

Nelson Mandela Bay deputy-mayor, Mongameli Bobani says the coalition government in the Metro is still intact, and service delivery to all residents will continue unabated.

Speaking on Algoa FM on Thursday, Bobani said all political parties would meet on a national basis to address issues of concern.

Bobani said he was still the deputy mayor, only change would be the fact that he was being removed as the Head of the Public Health Directorate.

He was axed from the position of Mayoral Committee member by Executive Mayor Athol Trollip on Tuesday.

Trollip said the Health Directorate had been of concern for a number of months - given serious allegations of maladministration which were being investigated.

He said Bobani's public behaviour and conduct had also been unacceptable as a member of the Mayoral Commitee.

Bobani also took a strike at executive mayor, Athol Trollip, saying he was one man who acted on his own.

"The problem is that one man doesn't want to listen to anyone," Bobani said.

He added that Trollip was doing things outside of the coalition agreement.
