NMB Business Chamber establishes another business cluster in Newton Park

The Nelson Mandela Bay Business Chamber says businesses in Newton Park have come together as a collective to form a cluster to address service delivery and safety and security challenges impacting the ease of doing business in the area.

It was the 11th cluster to be established under the Chamber's banner today, adding to a long list of already operational clusters across the Metro.

These include the Baakens Valley, Beachfront, Deal Party, Fairview, Kariega, Neave/Korsten, North End, Perseverance, Struandale and Walmer.

Chamber CEO, Denise van Huysteen says the reality is that for businesses to be viable, the basics need to work.

She says these include reliable water, sanitation, electricity, and roads.

“These businesses now have the opportunity to unite around common priorities which should enable them as a collective, and backed by the Chamber, to address some of the challenges in the area", she said.

Van Huysteen says since the establishment of the first geographic cluster in Perseverance over two years ago, there has been a growing awareness and buy-in to the need for businesses to play a proactive role in influencing the state of their operating environments.
