Nine people were killed early on Sunday evening following a head-on-collision on the R63 between Komga and Bisho.
Spokesperson for Provincial Traffic Charles Bramwell says a minibus taxi and truck collided about 20km from Komga on the King Williams Town Road.
He says according to reports the taxi tried to overtake another vehicle on a solid line when it hit the truck head on.
Bramwell says all the passengers in the taxi, including the driver were killed on impact.
The driver and his assistant from the truck were treated for injuries.
Bramwell says the victims were four women, three men and two children aged three and seven.
