Nine people have been arrested and more than 100-kilogrammes of dagga seized at a road block outside Plettenberg Bay.
The road block was manned by members attached to the flying squad based in George and the K9 units of the Southern Cape (Langeberg-, Outeniqua-, Central Karoo- and Tsitsikamma) near the tollgates outside Plettenberg Bay.
A total of 393 vehicles and 1-thousand 278 people were searched during the staging of the road block from Sunday through to Friday.
Nine people were arrested on charges which include dealing in dagga and illegal possession of firearms and ammunition.
Dagga with a street value of about R100 000 was confiscated.
Police captain Bernadine Steyn says one of the weapons seized was an Uzi assault rifle.
